Welder working on a metal assembly

Services

Plastics & moulding

Injection-moulded parts and associated tooling. We assess polymer grade, geometry, order volume and tooling economics with potential suppliers.

Overview

How we source plastics & moulding.

With moulded parts, most of the cost and risk sits in the tool. We review part geometry and volumes with potential suppliers to recommend the right tool type, cavitation and steel, and we agree tool ownership and maintenance terms up front.

Once the tool is built, we manage trial shots and sample approval against your specification, then monitor production for consistency in dimensions, colour and finish.

Getting a useful quote

What to include in your RFQ.

The more complete the brief, the more accurate the quotation. Missing something? Send what you have and we will help fill the gaps.

  • 3D models (STEP) and 2D drawings with critical dimensions
  • Polymer grade, colour and any regulatory requirement (e.g. food contact, UL rating, RoHS/REACH)
  • Annual volume and expected tool life
  • Surface finish and texture requirements
  • Secondary operations, assembly and packing

Quality

Checkpoints agreed before production starts.

  • Design-for-manufacture review before tool steel is cut
  • Tool trial samples measured against the drawing
  • Colour and finish approval against a master sample
  • In-process and pre-shipment dimensional and visual checks

Inspection scope is agreed per project and can include independent third-party inspection where required.

FAQ

Common questions.

Can a mould built in India be moved later?

If you own the tool, yes — though moving tooling has costs and requires re-validation. We document tool ownership and specification so your options stay open.

What volumes make sense?

Injection moulding usually suits volumes where tooling cost can be spread across many parts. For low volumes we can discuss alternative tooling or processes.
